About Austin
👋 Hi! I’m Austin Lyons, the author of Chipstrat and tech analyst at Creative Strategies. Chipstrat is my newsletter in which I take an interdisciplinary approach to analyzing semiconductors and AI.
I earned a graduate degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where I published research in nanoelectronics and semiconductor physics under the guidance of Prof. Eric Pop (now at Stanford). I later worked for Intel Corporation in Austin, TX, before my entrepreneurial itch pulled me away to startupland as a cofounder and later software engineer.
My training is technical, but I’m equally interested in the business of semiconductors and have my MBA from the University of Iowa.
